Best Editing Studios in Atlanta (2026)

8 Atlanta editing studios cutting commercials, series and branded work in 2026, from founder-owned edit houses to national editorial offices

Introduction

Atlanta has eight editing studios worth shortlisting in 2026, from founder-owned edit houses and the Atlanta offices of national editorial companies to a production company with its own cutting team and a network of freelance editors. Between them they cut commercials for the city's big brands, network and streaming series, and branded content.

Much of the commercial editing follows the companies headquartered here, and Coca-Cola, Delta and The Home Depot all appear in the credits below. Georgia's film and TV production base brings episodic and feature work too, and a growing local post community has started to organise around it: Moonshine Post launched Post Atlanta in 2026, with a two-day conference at the Plaza Theatre on 26 and 27 September, and the Atlanta Editors Collective now counts more than 800 post professionals in its network.

Every studio here showed an Atlanta base on a page we checked. Colour, sound and full-service post houses have their own Atlanta lists, so this one concentrates on companies where editorial is the main service or a core in-house team. It is shorter than our larger-city lists because several candidates could not be confirmed, and it runs in no fixed order of merit.

The best editing studios in Atlanta

1. Moonshine Post

Founder-owned · Glenwood Park · moonshinepost.com

Moonshine Post is a post house on Glenwood Avenue SE whose editorial team handles offline and online editing for commercials, film and television. Editors Patrick Perry and Kristina Kromer cut offline, and Neil Mikels is the online editor. Founder Drew Sawyer is an editor himself, with commercial credits for Fanta, the NBA G League and Merrell, the last with the agency Majority.

The studio also rents four-wall edit suites running Avid or Premiere on shared SAN and NAS storage, which suits productions that bring their own editors. In 2026 Moonshine launched Post Atlanta, with a conference for local post professionals at the Plaza Theatre on 26 and 27 September.

2. Uppercut Atlanta

Editor-founded · Westside · uppercutedit.com

Uppercut is a creative editorial company founded by editor Micah Scarpelli, with studios in New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta. It describes itself as offering large-scale capability with a boutique feel, and it handles VFX, finishing and motion graphics alongside the cut. The Atlanta studio is on Makers Way NW, and Lisa Sadek is EP and partner for Atlanta.

Recent work on its site includes campaigns for Samsung, Marvel, FanDuel, Bud Light, Gatorade and Burger King. The site does not say which editors sit in Atlanta, so ask who would cut your job and where.

3. After Avenue

Founder-led · Atlanta · afteravenue.com

After Avenue is an Atlanta post-production company built around editing, founded by Amy and Jonathan Eakin. Morgan McCloy is Head of Post, and the site has its own section for the studio's editors.

Its client list includes Google, Adobe, Audible, Cathay Pacific, Global X, A. Lange & Söhne and Hibiki, which leans towards brand films and premium product work. The site does not publish a street address, so confirm where sessions take place.

4. Company 3 Atlanta

Part of Company 3 · Buckhead · company3.com

Company 3's Atlanta office on Peachtree Road offers editorial and conform alongside dailies, picture finishing, colour and sound. Kenny Sloat is Executive Producer for creative editorial, so the office can take a commercial from the offline cut through the grade and mix without leaving the building.

LBB Online credits the office on BBDO Atlanta's holiday campaign for The Home Depot. The site does not name Atlanta-based editors, so ask whether your offline would be cut locally or by an editor in another Company 3 location.

5. FUGO Studios

Production company with in-house post · West Midtown · fugostudios.com

FUGO Studios is a production company on West Marietta Street that keeps editing in-house. Its site says the team is full-time staff rather than freelancers, with editors working alongside writers, directors, cinematographers, VFX artists and motion graphics designers, and post covering editing, colour, VFX, animation and sound.

Featured work includes Delta Air Lines safety videos such as "Midnight Oil", Doritos "Breakroom Ostrich" for the 2014 Super Bowl, and a Huggies spot with Michael Phelps, and Coca-Cola is also on its client list. The site does not name its editors. It suits brands that want the team that shot the spot to cut it.

6. Lemonaid Post

Founder-led · Atlanta · lemonaidpost.com

Lemonaid Post was founded in 1999 by its president, editor Charles Isaiah Lemons, and offers editing for film, television and advertising alongside colour, audio, graphics and deliverables. Its site puts the emphasis on storytelling, creative strategy and timing over software skills.

Clients include BET, MTV, FOX, Lifetime and Tyler Perry Studios, and credits include "The Ms. Pat Show" and "Average Joe". It also rents Avid, Final Cut and Premiere workstations on NEXIS shared storage, which suits unscripted and episodic productions that want to bring their own editors.

7. Atlanta Editors Collective

Freelance network · Atlanta · atlantaeditorscollective.com

The Atlanta Editors Collective is a network of more than 800 local post professionals. It matches productions with editors and other post talent, and it can also run full-service post on a project.

The collective runs education for its members, including a VFX editing workshop in November 2025, and it worked with Moonshine Post and the Atlanta Film Festival on the launch event for Post Atlanta. It is a practical starting point for a production that needs to staff a cutting room with local editors and assistants.

8. Bark Bark

Female and Black-owned · Atlanta · barkbark.com

Bark Bark is a content studio for brands, sports and entertainment, run by partners Daniel Sattelmeyer, Tabitha Mason-Elliott and Ann Daykin from Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles. It has its own post, graphics and animation practice with an editor on staff, so promos and short-form cuts can be finished in-house.

Recent projects on its site include work for ABC and the 2025 ESPY Awards and for Disney Cruise Line in 2026. Other clients include Netflix, Hulu, Food Network and Google. It is a good fit for network promos and entertainment marketing more than long-form editorial.

What to look for in an Atlanta editing studio

Start with who will cut the job. Several of the studios above are Atlanta offices of companies with editors in New York and Los Angeles, and their sites do not always say who sits locally. Ask for the editor by name and for a reel of their own recent work.

Match the studio to the format. Commercial editorial runs to tight schedules, agency notes and many versions and cutdowns, while episodic and unscripted work brings long assemblies, assistant editors and network deliverables. Ask how the studio staffs assistants and who handles conform and online.

Decide how much you want under one roof. Some studios hand off to colour, sound and VFX in the same building, and others rent suites or supply freelance editors to productions that run their own post. Both work, as long as one producer owns the schedule and the hand-offs are agreed early.

Finally, settle how media and cuts will move. A commercial can produce dozens of versions and a series many terabytes of rushes. Agree where the project and camera files live, how proxies are made and shared, and how review links and notes from director, agency and client are gathered and approved.

How Fabric helps editing teams

Fabric gives an editorial team one workspace for footage, project documents and client feedback, with AI search across all of it. Media sits in Fabric's cloud drive, which streams files on demand so they take no local disk space, and heavy files open without a full download. There is more on this in how to edit video without filling your SSD and in what is a proxy workflow.

Interviews and rushes are transcribed automatically, so search can find a spoken line across every take and jump to its timestamp. The same search works by meaning across scripts, shot lists, EDLs and PDFs, and across connected Google Drive or Dropbox folders, which helps when an editor is hunting for that one piece of b-roll.

For review, a cut or a folder of versions can be published as a web page with password protection, and link analytics shows when each named recipient opened it and how long they spent with it. Directors, agencies and clients can leave threaded comments through a shared link without creating an account. Timestamped comments and drawing on video frames are listed as coming soon on the annotations page.

Any folder can also become a kanban board whose cards are the files themselves, which suits tracking spots or episodes from offline through online to delivery.

Password protection and link analytics are included on Pro and Team plans. See plans for teams.
